28 Aug Recognizing Tammy Gomez

At our 8/27/24 Area Board meeting, we recognized Tammy Gomez of Lawrence County as our Board Member of the Month for August. Tammy has served as a low-income advocate and active volunteer for several years, assisting with REALL simulations, fundraising, garnering community support, food collections for area People’s Pantries, and helping raise awareness of the programs that are available to assist people as they work toward self-sufficiency. Tammy helped raise donations for Christmas in July in 2019 and has continued to bring in donations items for Kids of Christmas each year. She took an active role to help in the success of April’s event, Tricycles for a Cause.

Tammy has been one of OACAC’s greatest advocates and is a valued member of our board and our community. We appreciate her efforts and the time she has dedicated to OACAC over the years.
