VOCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES INSPIRING CHILDREN IN ELEMENTARY 

What do you want to be when you grow up?

OACAC launched VOICE in 2014, to help our local elementary students answer this question by fostering awareness of different career paths.

VOICE is a great conversation starter for kids to talk to their families about future dreams and aspirations!

VOICE EXPERIENCE

Vocational Opportunities Inspiring Children in Elementary (VOICE) is a project which brings careers to life for kids and encourages them to dream BIG about their futures! For more information on bringing VOICE to your community, contact [email protected].

What Is VOICE?

A collaboration between OACAC, local elementary schools, and youth organizations, VOICE provides a hands-on introduction to six different career paths:

  • Arts and Communication
  • Business, Management, and Technology
  • Natural Resources and Agriculture
  • Human Services
  • Industrial Engineering and Technology
  • Health Services

Students, parents, and teachers can learn more about these six career paths from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Why VOICE?

 

Research has shown numerous benefits for children who complete an elementary-based career awareness program:

  • Higher academic achievement
  • Improved school involvement
  • Increased career awareness exploration
  • Increased personal and interpersonal skills
