14 Jul Happy Retirement to Caryn & Vickie

On May 15, 2025, Vickie Waggoner, HR Administrative Assistant, retired after 49 years and nine months with OACAC. She started working here as a teen and quite literally grew up with OACAC. She saw several moves and changes to staff and programs through the decades, yet through it all, one thing remained certain—Vickie was a friendly face who may greet you with a, “Hey girl” or ask how your kiddo is doing in school. She is the kind of person whose presence could brighten anyone’s day. Humble and reserved, Vickie didn’t want a celebration for her retirement, but chose to quietly make her exit after saying her goodbyes.

Following Vickie, Caryn Mackie, HR Director, retired on July 11, 2025 after 18 years with OACAC. Caryn is a woman with many talents who wears a multitude of hats, as they say. You can find her welcoming new employees, as well as coordinating insurance meetings and overseeing improvements at Central Office. “I feel honored to have had the privilege of working for an agency with such a great mission of helping others,” said Caryn. “I will miss my wonderful colleagues and I have enjoyed working all these years with the OACAC Board of Directors.”

Together, Vickie (pictured left in the photo below) and Caryn (pictured right) have been a dynamic duo who led our Human Resources Department for 18 years. We wish them much joy and great adventures in retirement.
