Life is a series of moments, and if you’re an older adult seeking fulfillment, new skills, and human connection, this may be your moment to volunteer. We are calling on compassionate individuals to make a meaningful impact by joining the OACAC Foster Grandparent Program.

This unique program connects volunteers aged 55+ with children in schools and Head Start Centers. It offers seniors the opportunity to give back to the community in a deeply rewarding way by serving as mentors, tutors, and role models, helping children develop the confidence and skills they need to succeed. Participation in the program comes with several benefits, including:

• Tax-free stipends for income-eligible volunteers

• Paid training to prepare for the role

• Opportunities to build lasting relationships with children and other volunteers

The program is open to individuals aged 55 and older who meet income eligibility requirements. No prior experience is necessary—just a passion for helping young people thrive.
