Congratulations and thank you goes to our friends on the Greene County Board for perfect attendance at meetings during the 2015-2016 year. More than attending meetings, these friends work to make life better, not just for those living in poverty, but for our whole community. Thanks to everyone who joined us on November 1 and 2 to celebrate Weatherization Day, the 40th anniversary of Weatherization, and the many strong partnerships we have in our community.
The U.S. Department of Energy’s Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) was created in 1976 to assist low-income families who lack resources to invest in energy efficiency.  WAP is available in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Native American tribes, and U.S. Territories.  The OACAC Weatherization Assistance Program serves 10 counties across Southwest Missouri, including Barry, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Greene, Lawrence, Polk, Stone, Taney, and Webster. Governor Jay Nixon signed into effect a proclamation declaring October 30, 2016 to be Weatherization Day.  In celebration of Weatherization Day and the 40 anniversary, please join us and watch as OACAC crew members demonstrate how a home is weatherized.

Thanks to everyone who made the Springfield Adventure Race a fun event! Congratulations to team, "I Thought This Was A 5k" for coming in first and a big thanks to the three of them for donating the grand prize money back to the mission of helping people out of poverty.
We are proud to recognize Bill Barnett as our honored OACAC Board Member for August 2016. Bill has dedicated more than 20 years to being an OACAC Board Member and Christian County Commissioner. Thanks, Bill!
