Important Broadband Info

The MO Office of Broadband Development just announced the official opening of the BEAD Challenge Portal. Challenges will be accepted from now until April 23, 2024.

The purpose of the challenge process is to finalize the eligibility of Missouri homes and businesses for funding through the BEAD program. It will allow Missourians and broadband stakeholders to provide evidence that Missouri Broadband Availability Map does not accurately reflect the availability or quality of internet service at a given location. Through the challenge process, OBD will collect input important to achieving its goal of connecting all Missourians to quality, high-speed internet. The speed test link on the Missouri Broadband Map is now live. Missouri Broadband Map (mo.gov)

To submit a speed test, individuals must enter their address in the upper left corner of map page. Once their location has been found, a link to the speed test will be found in the bottom left corner of the page. “Take a Speed Test”

If the test indicates they may be underserved, they will be asked to provide the following information:

First and Last Name

Email

Provider

Property Type

Plan Download Speed

Plan Upload Speed

Individuals will need to submit at least 3 different tests, on different dates/times to be collected by an eligible provider. Challenge process resources are available at Office of Broadband Broadband Availability Challenge | Department of Economic Development (mo.gov)
