Open House & Volunteer Appreciation Events

May is Community Action Month and 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of our Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) program. Neighborhood Centers in each of the 10 counties we serve will host an Open House and you are cordially invited to join us in celebration. Some of the centers will also host a Volunteer Appreciation event as part of Open House as a way to recognize our gratitude for the many who give of their time, care, and heart.

Friday, May 10

Christian County Neighborhood Center, Open House, 2pm – 4pm, 204 E. Elm in Nixa: We’ll have all kinds of information on programs and projects, as well as some goodies and fun.

Wednesday, May 15

Greene County Center, Open House & Volunteer Appreciation, 9am – 11am, 560 N. Stewart, Ste. A in Springfield: We’ll serve breakfast goodies and have all kinds of fun.

Thursday, May 16

Barry County Neighborhood Center, Open House, 10am – 2pm, 700 E. Hwy 248 in Cassville: Lunch will be served from 11am – 1pm and the event from 10am – 2pm is come and go. We will be holding the drawing for the Mossberg 215 22 Caliber Rifle. Tickets for that drawing are available until the event for $5 each or $20 per arm span. Friday, May 17

Webster County Neighborhood Center, Open House & Volunteer Appreciation, 11am – 1pm, 211 N. Clay, Ste. D in Marshfield: Hot dogs and sides will be served and there will be drawings for door prizes!

Saturday, May 18

Taney County Neighborhood Center, Open House, 10am – 2pm, 610 S. 6th St. in Branson: The Taney County Neighborhood Center will be the featured non-profit in May at the Caring Americans Thrift Store Branson. Great prizes like passes to the Rec Plex and Samson at the Sight & Sound Theatres will be raffled off each Friday between 10am-1pm. When you’re finished shopping the great deals, head over to the OACAC Taney County Neighborhood Center for carnival games, hot dogs, prizes, and fun!

Thursday, May 23

Lawrence County Neighborhood Center, Open House & Volunteer Appreciation, 11am – 2pm, 203 S. Washington, Ste. A in Aurora: We’ll have a picnic with hot dogs and all kinds of fun for everyone.

Friday, May 24

Dade County County Neighborhood Center, Open House & Volunteer Appreciation, 12:30pm – 4pm, 2 North Main in Greenfield: We’ll have hot dogs, cupcakes, information on programs and projects, and lots of fun.

Stone County County Neighborhood Center, Open House & Volunteer Appreciation, 4pm – 6pm, 15060 Bus. 13 South, Ste. 11, in Branson West: We’ll have snow cones, grilled hot dogs, and face painting for the kids.

Wednesday, May 29*
Polk County Community Center, Open House & Volunteer Appreciation, 7:30am – 10am, 2110 S. Springfield, Bldg 2, Unit B in Bolivar: We’ll serve breakfast goodies and have all kinds of fun. *Time updated on 5/15.

Dallas County Neighborhood Center, Open House, 11am – 2pm, 1350 Carlson Lane in Buffalo: Step back in time with a 1960’s-1970’s themed dessert bar and photo booth with props from that era. Test your local trivia knowledge with games based on the OACAC programs operated over the last 50 years for a chance to win fun door prizes.
