Board Member of the Month, March 2019

The Lawrence County Neighborhood Center is very proud that our Advisory Board Member, Charles Burbridge has been chosen as the OACAC Board Member of the Month!

Charles is an integral part of OACAC’s mission to work toward enriching the lives of families and individuals within our shared Lawrence County community.  He has volunteered his time on our County Advisory Board, as well as our Emergency Food and Shelter Board for many years.

Charles and his wife, Annette, have been active volunteers (and volunteer recruiters!) for Poverty Simulations, REALL, VOICE, Senior Fairs and School Fairs.  I believe there might even be a picture or two floating around the internet of Charles in a stylish Silver Dollar City cap serving turkey legs at the Wagon Works Grill, volunteering his time to raise money for the Lawrence County Emergency Fund!

Our staff have had more than a fair share of Lawrence County residents call the office to inquire about OACAC services where the conversation began…”Charles at First Independent told me I should give you a call”

Charles’ commitment to our shared vision…improving the quality of life for the families and individuals we serve…is deeply valued by our Neighborhood Center Staff, and the communities in Lawrence County as a whole.

Thank you, Charles for exemplifying and sharing the Mission, Vision and Values we hold so close to our hearts at OACAC. As Marshall McLuhan stated, “There are no passengers on Spaceship Earth. We are all crew.”  Thank you for being part of the crew.”
