Head Start Is Taking Applications For The 2019-2020 School Year

Head Start is a high quality preschool/childcare program for young children. Children participate in a variety of educational activities. They also receive free medical and dental screening with follow-up care, disability services, healthy meals and snacks, and are provided with safe areas to learn and play both indoors and outdoors.

Transportation assistance may be provided.

Families who meet income guidelines and whose children are at least three years old may be eligible for Head Start. Four year old’s, homeless children and foster children receive priority. Children with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

For parents working or attending school, children receive two meals and a snack and nap/rest time in the afternoon. Classes are offered Monday – Friday. Child care before and after Head Start care is available at some locations and we accept child care subsidy.

For extended and part day/part year services, two meals are served. Transportation is available based on bus routes and schedule for the part day center. Part day classes offered Monday – Thursday from September through mid-May. Extended day classes are Monday – Friday from September through mid-May.
